A New Chess Star Is Born: Sindarov’s Historic Win

In the unforgettable finale of the event of FIDE World Cup 2025 Goa, 19 - year old  Javokhir Sindarov stunned the Chess World by being the Youngest Champion in the history of the event. After two classical games against  China’s Wei Yei ended in draws, the title was decided in a rapid dramatic tiebreak where he confidently played under tough time pressure and secured the championship.

The Young Champion knocked out several grandmasters along the way in the event. His semifinal matchup against Nodirbek Yakubboev was especially draining, but he held his composure — earning a hard-fought tiebreak victory to make it to the final. This ascent through the ranks highlights Sindarov’s growing strength and maturity as a competitive player. 

His victory resonates beyond the individual and marks a milestone for Uzbekistan overall presence in global Chess. Along with the title and Cash prize of $120,000 he also reserved a seat at FIDE World Cup 2026.
