Notable Results at Interschool Chess Chamoionship 2026

Interschool Chess Championship (Boys) held on 29th August 2026 at Alpha College, PECHS-Block 6 was presented by Karachi Division Chess Association that brings together Chess players from schools all over the city.

The event featured different categories Under-19, Under-17, Under-15, Under-13, Under-11, Under-9, and Under-7 and the was conducted under a Swiss System format with a total of 5 rounds and the Time Control of 15 minutes per player.

The event was successfully organized by the team including Chief Organizer Syed Aftab Hussain, Tournament Director Muhammad Waqar FM, Chief Arbiter Muhammad Asif Nisar, Deputy Chief Arbiter Muhammad Shaheer and Junaid Raees Khan as Arbiter

There were several strong performances in Under 7 and Under 11 categories including two unbeaten performances by the perfect score of 05 / 05.

Mahrez Fayyaz Secures 1st Position in Under 11 Category

Mahrez Fayyaz delivered an outstanding performance securing First position in Under 11 category with a perfect score of 5/5 points.

During the event he remained unbeaten and faced the following opponents: 

Round 1: Umar Waqas Nanitalwala

Round 2: Zaydan Ghazali

Round 3: Syed Wahaj Hussain Jilani

Round 4: Ahmed Aziz Memon

Round 5: Aman Saad Garib

7-Year Old Abdullah got First Position in Under 7 Category

Muhammad Abdullah Aged, just 7 years old, won 1st position in the Under 7 category with a remarkable score of 5/5 points and remained unbeaten throughout the championship.

His performance stands out due to his age as he participated in the youngest category during the event and was still able to manage to maintain the 5-rounds winning streak.

Zalaeed Finishes 4th in Under 11

Zalaeed Syed presented himself in the Under 11 Category and finished the championship with 4th place in Under 11 category getting 3 points from 5 rounds facing 2 losses during his campaign.

Ibrahim Tariq Finishes Among Top 10 Players

Ibrahim Tariq also delivered a solid performance and secured 3 points and finished among the top 10 players in the Under 11 category.

The championship provided valuable experience and memories to the young chess players from different schools across the city that will stick with them throughout and the results are a clear indication of growing strength of young chess players.
