Mishra, 16, makes history with win over world champion

What a stunning defeat, Sixteen year old - the Youngest Chess player in the 2025 FIDE Grand Swiss has stamped his name in the history books by defeating Gukesh Dommaraju in the 5th Round of this remarkable competition. 

The US based Grandmaster  stunned the reigning World Champion, Gukesh Dommaraju, in a brilliant game of classical chess. This inspiring victory has not only made the career defining moment for Abhimanyu but also broke the record which stood out for 30 years . 

This significant win stiffen the 16-year old Mishra as a major competitor in this world as a Youngest GM in the history. He is an inspiration for Young Chess players as he has proven that Age is just a number now all eyes are on him to see if he can carry this momentum to the final step of the tournament for the World Championship title itself or not
